Are you a recently certified/trained mediator ready to take your mediation to the next level? Join our dynamic team at DC Mediation & Dispute Resolution Institute as an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Specialist Intern. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in ADR. You will work closely with experienced ADR professionals, assisting in various aspects of the dispute resolution process, training, and contributing to meaningful outcomes.

Applications for the internship are being received on a rolling basis. The length of the internship period shall vary on a case-by-case basis. An intern should commit to at least 20 hours of work per week. The internship will take place virtually.

Although interns are not remunerated (unpaid), they will receive a recommendation and a certificate for their work upon completing the internship. As an intern, you will also have the opportunity to participate in mediation practices for free, which will give you opportunities to gain confidence in conflict and master the art and science of mediation.

Assist in designing communication/marketing strategies, advertising, and digital training content and strategies for both internal and external use.
Assist in ADR business development strategies.
Assist in preparing, organizing, coordinating, and facilitating ADR activities, sessions, and training.
Assist in designing and facilitating training.
Conduct research on relevant ADR issues, draft briefs, reports, and case summaries.
Collaborate with team members on special projects and client interactions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation.
